Damn right, man

What I love most about this, dude, is that it doesn't give any breaks. It gives off that constant mystical feeling, much like the endless training and meditation the monks would go under.

Also, makes it great for showing a panoramic sequence, which would just rock with the right scenery.

wyldfyre1 responds:

what??? duhh... KIDDING Hahaha.. yeah man i get what you mean! We'll see if this gets used =)

Very good, almost great

This is a rather good cover, I do admit. However, I can only offer a 4/5 and a 7/10 because of the singing. It's not horrible by any stretch of the imagination, it's just not quite what I was expecting when I heard the quality of the instrumental sections.

At times the singer is pitchy and a little too hesitant or eager, resulting in a word or two either being rushed or out of place. While it may not happen very often, it's noticible when it occurs.

Still, like I said, this is a rather good cover and with a little bit of love here or there (or just an instrumental version of the song) and I would vote it higher.

Jazza responds:

yeah i know what you mean

in all fairness i recorded as a favor to a friend, i only learned the song, by ear, the day before. i had no chords to work with, only some random video on yourube that plays the song in the backgrounds.

and yeah what you were describing tends to happend when you read the words youre singing/recording

Excellent remix of an '80's classic

I love that song and this remix is bad ass.

To terrybp, guess what? You're right, facts are facts, and you're a moron. It's not the same remix, you douche nozzle. It's similar, but listened side by side, they are different. There's three or four other remixes that are similar as well, but they're different from each other. Learn to hear differences in music.

RyanTime2 responds:

Thank you, you actually noticed? I tried to copy the real stuff, but ended up doing something like this! :D

Insulting to people who try

Honestly, this is a slap in the face to people who actually put in effort. There isn't any kind of music here, just some lip smacking and talking.

The difference between this and something like Wyldfyre Doing A Jap Song is that people requested he put that up after hearing it in an animation, and it's actually sung, at least.

NoHost responds:

no one cares fag

Messy

It's just too garbled together. Really needs some work, and the samples aren't very good, either. Once everything quiets down and there's only a few things going, you can see the potential.

ericdrebin responds:

You're absolutely right. Unfortunately, I don't have the original files anymore, so I can't change anything. I really posted this mainly because I loved how experimental it was, and just how plain weird it is, and try to have the music that I submit here be as varied as possible.

Too jumbled

There's potential, but no real greatness, sadly. Seems like a jumble of instruments trying to stand out, but because of it, nothing does. Needs work, but can be something good with enough time.

trashcanman responds:

ive found a pretty neat mid converterr now, so i'll start submitting my songs, the way they were meant to be

Interesting, but not excellent

It's a little repetitious, but pleasant. Interesting concept that should be further built upon. From 1:00 to 1:18 definitely has that RPG feel more so than the rest of the song.

kelwynshade responds:

With most of my projects I tend to go to far I think. I actually tried to leave it under 2 minutes so it could loop like any SNES RPG would.

I appreciate your thoughts regardless. Thanks.

Excellent remix from FF9

First off, congratulations for getting on the featured songs.

This remix is very pleasant and moving. The original is a nice underlying for the new style on top of it.

It was a toss up between this and another song used in the Captain R: The Game Ranger [Reduex!!!]. I'll probably end up using this in a future animation and have faved it.

Zajed responds:

thanks alot, its the first time for me on the frontpage
the original is way better then mine but you can do so much with it

thanks alot for the review

Great execution

Starts off slow, but once it kicks off, the song really gets going. A little repetitious, but that's just how this style of music tends to be. Some of the sounds get a little drowned out, but that actually lends a different feel to the song.

NemesisTheory responds:

Yeah, I also think too much variation could actually hurt a song like this. But OTOH you can never have too much variation. :P

I'm glad you liked it, mate. :)

Funny shit

Hahha, I remember when you first sent this over to me. What were we talking about? Something about the music in anime and you voiced me with this.

Yeah, that's what happened. I ended up saving it and putting it in Phoenix Wrong: Inspired Justice. So many people kept bugging us to put up access to that audio rant, hahah.

wyldfyre1 responds:

yeah, had to do with how anime music has like few english words in it and then goes right back to japenese lol
